It is the end of the road for couple Farhan Akhtar and Adhuna Bhabani. They took the fans by surprise when they announced their separation last year. After being married for 15 years, Farhan and Adhuna parted ways, and filed for a divorce last October on mutual consent.
According to a report in Mid-Day, the Bandra family court granted the ex-couple a divorce on Monday. The report suggests that the custody of their two daughters Shakya and Akira will remain with Adhuna, while Farhan will have the rights to access them whenever he wants.
Farhan’s lawyer Fazaa Shroff-Garg told the daily, “The divorce by mutual consent was allowed by the family court in Bandra.” Both of them were present at the court on Monday.
It was in January last year that Farhan and Adhuna released a joint statement announcing that they were ending their 15-year marriage.

The statement read, “This is to announce that we, Adhuna and Farhan, have mutually and amicably decided to separate. Our children remain our priority and it is immensely important to us, as responsible parents, that they be protected from unwarranted speculation and public glare. We sincerely request that we are given the privacy that is required at this time to move forward in a dignified manner.”
Ever since their separation, a lot has been said about Farhan’s link-up rumours with his co-actors. But he has rubbished all such rumours.
Farhan and Adhuna tied the knot in 2000. The couple met on the sets of Farhan’s directorial debut, Dil Chahta Hai.
