Explosion in Chernihiv, Ukraine

in the city of Chernihiv After an air raid warning was issued in the area, an explosion erupted. The Ukrainian TV program “Public” published this on its Telegram channel. Explosions also rang out, followed by a fire in the Kiev region on the grounds of the industrial zone along the Ring Road, according to Kiev Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko. He stated that emergency personnel are on the scene.

The victims’ identities have not yet been revealed. According to the Strana publication’s Telegram channel, the explosion happened outside a retail mall near Sofiyivska Borshchagovka. Explosions had previously been reported at Vinnitsa, Lvov, Khmelnitsky, and Zhytomyr in western Ukraine.

An air alert was issued on the night of August 19 in the Kiev, Cherkassy, Kirovograd, Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, and Kharkiv regions, as well as sections of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Zaporozhye region controlled by Kiev.
