Eagles player Josh Sills charged with rape and kidnapping

Josh Sills, an offensive lineman for the Philadelphia Eagles, is accused of rape and kidnapping in an Ohio case from December 2019.

The 25-year-old is scheduled to show up in Guernsey County Court on February 16 after being indicted by a grand jury, according to ESPN on Wednesday.

According to the authorities, Sills coerced his victim into having intercourse against his will.
The local police soon after began an inquiry.

The resident of Sarahsville, a town in the same state, would normally have travelled with his teammates to Glendale, Arizona, where they will face the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII.
However, upon his indictment, Philadelphia added his name to Commissioner Roger Goodell’s exemption list.

He runs the risk of being barred from team activities like travelling, playing, and training.

Sills participated in just one game during the regular season.
He was a student at West Virginia University from 2016 to 2019, and he signed a contract with the Eagles in April of last year.
