Al-Zahi said in a statement that the operation was carried out under normal conditions, especially after completing all the necessary tests, explaining that Tariq had been carrying a knife in his back for 26 years.

He said, “The doctors apparently stitched his wound without realizing that the iron part of the knife was in his body, and X-rays showed that the iron part of the knife was embedded in the back, near the spine, lungs, and between the ribs and vertebrae, in a sensitive area and close to important places. “

The doctor insists that the type of injury does not interfere with movement, but causes pain when the weather changes, and that the knife must be clean and removed to avoid infection near the spinal cord and lungs, as iron is not made. should be implanted in the human body.

According to a Tunisian surgeon, his presence in Tariq’s body would expose him to risks if he underwent MRI examinations.

Dr. Khair El-Din El-Jahi felt the right decision was to remove the knife from Tariq’s body, after making a good diagnosis and checking the condition of his spinal cord, vertebrae and lungs.

The surgeon performed a delicate surgery with the help of a colleague who was an expert in orthopedic surgery and they succeeded in removing the knife from the victim’s body without any complications.
