The Difference Between A Heart Attack And A Cardiac Arrest

Heart attack-cardiac arrest are not the same.

Both of them think the same. But, even though both are related to the heart… there is a big difference.

Until then a healthy, smiling and talking man…we will see him die within five minutes. If you ask the reason, they say ‘heart attack’. But there are others who can withstand heart attack twice. Various events happen around us every day. In this confusion, many people do not know the difference between cardiac arrest and heart attack. What is cardiac arrest? What is the difference between cardiac arrest and heart attack? Let’s find out what are their characteristics and why they are used.

Heart attack

A heart attack occurs when blocks form in the coronary arteries. The blood vessels that supply blood to the heart muscle are called coronary arteries. When such blocks are formed, the heart does not receive oxygenated blood. If those blocks are not opened soon the man will die.

Symptoms

If you have a heart attack, you will feel pain in your chest. Also, the pressure in the chest is increased and feels like squeezing. Along with these, the pain starts in the left upper part of the left shoulder, jaw, etc.

CAUSES?

Heart muscle damage due to alcohol consumption, smoking, tobacco, and caffeine causes differences in heart rate.

CPR

In the process of CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), the victim who has fallen due to heart attack should be laid down first. Next to him someone should sit on his knees.. with both hands together.. should press rhythmically on the chest bone of the victim. When pressed like this, the heart pumps and blood circulation improves. While doing this on one hand, breath should be given through the mouth on the other hand. If the blood supply to the victim’s brain is cut off for 5-6 seconds, the brain cells are damaged. It should be noted that if the blood supply stops for 40 seconds, the brain becomes dead. Two people perform CPR better than one person.

What is cardiac arrest?

At once the heart.. stops the blood supply. The brain does not get oxygen. Then the man suddenly collapses and loses his breath. The heart stops beating completely. This is called cardiac arrest. Some often face career and financial pressures. This stress has a profound effect on the heart’s function. Normally a healthy human heart beats 70 to 80 times per minute. When a person is stressed, the heart rate beats more than 120 to 150 times. When the blood flow from the heart to other parts of the body has to go faster, the blood vessels become smaller and narrower. Even if there are no blocks in the blood vessels till then… due to pressure they shrink and cause sudden cardiac arrest.

Risk factors

  • Overweight or obesity problem
  • Family history of heart problems
  • High BP (high blood pressure)
  • Diabetes
  • Lack of physical activity
  • Changing lifestyle.

SYMPTOMS

If there is a cardiac arrest.. the heart stops beating and suddenly collapses on the spot. No breathing. The pulse stops. If this cardiac arrest does not receive proper treatment, the person will die within minutes. But before this some symptoms also appear. Slight pain in chest, difficulty in breathing. Feeling lethargic and dizzy.
