Derbyshire batsman Billy Godleman has signed a new one-year contract extension to keep him at the Division Two club until the end of 2016.
The 26-year-old Londoner has been rewarded with a new contract following his stellar performance to the new season scoring 235 runs in just three games at an average of 47, including three half-centuries.

“Billy is currently playing the best cricket of his life,” Derbyshire elite performance director Graeme Welch said. “He has done everything we have asked of him during the winter and he’s now reaping the benefits.
“He has put in the hard work and continues to improve both as a cricketer and as a person. He’s become a leader amongst the team and we hope his form can continue.”
Godleman has scored 4,382 runs in 90 first-class appearances during his first-class career.
