Denmark Reacts to Trump’s Canceled Visit With ‘Regret and Surprise’
President Donald Trump’s choice to drop an excursion to Denmark after it upset his arrangements to purchase Greenland has left Danish authorities somewhat flabbergasted.
Addressing columnists Wednesday, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said she had been anticipating the visit and arrangements were well underway.
“It is with lament and shock that I got the news that President Trump has dropped his state visit to Denmark on the second and third of September,” she said. “It was a chance, I think, to observe Denmark’s cozy relationship to the U.S., who stays perhaps the nearest partner.”

NBC News affirmed provides details regarding Sunday that Trump was keen on purchasing Greenland, after White House, monetary counselor Larry Kudlow told “Fox News Sunday” that the U.S. was “taking a gander at” acquiring the asset-rich region.
