Despite what we see these days on the PC market, the new Dell XPS Tower SE is somehow a fresh air. As we know, not everyone can afford buying a PC that comes with some high-end hardware in its chassis in purpose to deliver a good VR experience.
The huge power that Virtual reality is asking for is too much for most customers. But, the new Dell XPS Tower SE is something new. The company has redesigned the XPS Tower SE.
This new Special Edition device is configured separately from the standard edition. Here, we are talking about a Core i5 processor and a 1TB HDD. Moreover, there is a GTX 1070 GPU, which is different from what we see on the standard edition.
As we know, the traditional XPS 8910 device has an RX 480 GPU. Without a doubt, these specs are mid-range components, but the price is also affordable.
We are talking about a 1.200 dollars price tag, which customers will have to pay if they want the new Dell XPS Tower SE.
The question here is if the new Dell XPS Tower SE can keep up with the competition?
Well, let’s take it step by step. First, we talk about the design. The new Dell XPS Tower SE is a short stature appearance.
Its size is betrayed by the components that it has packed inside. This tower PC doesn’t have something special about its design, and that is why most customers will probably consider it something boring. But, this isn’t necessary a bad thing.
Most people want a tower PC that doesn’t come with fancy lights, flashy exterior or big windows.
Moreover, the new Dell XPS Tower SE doesn’t come with a construction quality that people often see on many other dedicated gaming desktops.

This PC also comes with a fine selection of useful ports. We are talking about two USB 2.0 ports for keyboard and mouse, a single Type-C connection, and four USB 3.0 ports. Moreover, the Ethernet makes an appearance on this chassis as well, alongside with HDMI and DisplayPort connection for the internal graphics.
As we know, every XPS Tower line is a VR ready PC. Of course, the standard model comes with an 8GB RX 480 GPU, which is very good for VR experience. But, as we mentioned earlier, this new tower comes with a GTX 1070.

Depending on which card people are going to opt for, they should know that their video connection options will vary. However, both towers should include at least one DisplayPort and one HDMI, which means that customers will be able to hook up a VR headset and an external display at once.
As for internals, the new Dell XPS Tower SE comes with Core i5-6400, a quad core chip with a 2.7GHz base clock and 3.30GHz Turbo Boos.
This processor is powered by 8GB of DDR4 RAM. This means that the new Dell XPS Tower SE has a solid CPU, which is a good thing, because people will be able to play all high-end games, as well as VR games.
