nFornmany people, Christmas time is a time of too much busy-busy, a frantic level of hustle-bustle. Shopping, decorating, baking,nwrapping, and party-going are all piled on top of the normal stressesnof life such as laundry, daily cooking and cleaning, work and school.

nOf course, some people do not celebrate Christmasand many of them are getting sick of Christmas music in every store and relentless holiday “cheer” being pressed onto them by strangers.

nToday—justnfour days before Christmas—has been set aside for those of us whonwant to complain or just sigh or even shout, “Bah, humbug!”

nWhynlook on the bright side, today?

nTodaynis the shortest day and therefore the longest night of the year innthe Northern Hemisphere. With considerably less brightness courtesynof our sun, we humans have to make our own brightness. Do somethingn(or several somethings) to keep cheerful and happy. And maybe you cannhang some of those tiny white lights on your house to brighten thennight (or the multi-colored blinking ones, or the icicle kind, or whatever). And maybe youncan build a fire on your hearth, or light candles and bask in thenglow.
