Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne is optimistic of starting the new season with a trophy.
The Belgium international played little or no part in City’s incredible run to the domestic treble due to injuries but now he is fit and ready kick off this season by beating Liverpool to the Community Shield.
Against Liverpool, De Bruyne will be tasked by Pep Guardiola to dictate the tempo of the game and create openings for the attackers to score.
De Bruyne knows what is expected of him and had this to say when asked about the curtain raiser.:
“Liverpool is a good team so we have to play well to win the Community SHield”, De Bruyne told Sky Sports.
“Their midfield is good but ours is better so we have to keep the ball better and find chances to score against them.
‘I don’t know how many we need but i think two or three will be enough to beat them and win the title”.
