Today was a classic case of the best-laid plans going awry. I’d set aside a good chunk of the day to tackle the painting, but fate, in the form of a pair of unexpectedly won rugs, had other ideas.
The morning started with a pleasant surprise: an email informing me I’d won two rugs on eBay! A quick arrangement later, and I was off to collect them this afternoon.
With my rug-hunting adventure planned, I made the most of the limited time I had for painting. Another coat on the skirtings and the large window was the order of the day. The beading also got a fresh coat of paint. Progress, albeit slower than anticipated.
The afternoon was spent exploring the vibrant tapestry scene in Bolton. I returned with two rugs that are nothing short of stunning. I’ll be sure to share pictures in the coming days.
A Paint-Related Peril
A quick word of caution for fellow DIY enthusiasts: if you happen to take a tumble while painting with red paint, the initial shock of seeing red splatters everywhere can be quite alarming. It’s easy to mistake it for something far more sinister!
