Liverpool legend Danny Murphy has called on Jurgen Klopp to consider signing Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele as Roberto Firmino’s replacement.
Murphy who won the treble under Gerard Houllier in 2011 feels Dembele is faster, more talented and a better goalscorer than Firmino..
The 21-year-old World Cup winner is known for his electrifying pace, incredible dribbling abilities and goals..
But his major weakness still remains his lack of concentration as well as poor injury record. Danny Murphy don’t really care about that and feels, when he is fit and on fire, he is among the world best attackers.
“Dembele would be a fantastic singing for Liverpool’, Murphy told talkSPORT.
“He’s not had the best time at Barcelona, but clearly has an abundance of talent and the ability to win games by himself. If he can recapture his belief in his ability, then Liverpool would have formidable front three with him, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salaha.
‘When playing to his potential, i think he would edge Firmino out of the first team. Firmino is the type of player that would raise his own game and everyone’s around him if Dembele came into the team.
“He’ll fight for his place week in and week out and if you’re not giving your all on the pitch, then Firmino will be right there to take it”.
Signing Ousame Dembele will cost any club £90m to £100m to acquire which frankly, will put Liverpool off.
Jurgen Klopp have made it clear in his press conference, Liverpool will not be signing any big name player but rather, they sign players people known little or nothing about them.
