Court Sacks PDP Chairman Uche Secondus From Office

Justice Hussein Baba of the High Court of the FCT has ordered the Acting National Chairman of PDP, Chief Uche Secondus, to vacate office‎ within 14 days.

The judge, while delivering ruling on a suit filed by Goodluck Jonathan’s ex-Special Adviser  on Political Matters, Ahmed Gulak, said Secondus was occupying the top position in the party illegally.

Justice Baba held that the position of the National Chairman of the party was zoned to the North-East and therefore could not be occupied by Secondus who is from Rivers State.

He ordered that Secondus should vacate office within 14 days, adding that Gulak or any other party member worthy of that position should assume the position of PDP Acting National Chairman.

Meanwhile, counsel to the PDP, Paul Isaiah, said the party would appeal the judgement adding that a stay of execution would also be filed.

“We are going to appeal this judgement. Apart from the appeal, we are also going to file a stay of execution of the judgement because the National Convention of the party is in March next year,” he said.
