Liverpool hare reportedly submitted a £32m bid to sign Ajax superstar David Neres reports Telegraaf.
The Reds will compete for his signature along with Atletico Madrid who are also interested in signing him as a replacement for Diego Costa who set to leave the club to China or Everton.
Neres, 22, was part of the Ajax team that won the domestic double and reached the Champions League semi finals. He was also part of the Brazilian squad that won the Copa America title 2 weeks ago
A quick, powerful and clinical striker, Neres is the modern striker that mixes creativity with goals.. He is versatile and can play in both wings, as well as a second striker and an attacking midfielder.
The club sporting director Marc Overmars had this to say about him:
“Next week we will be turning our attention towards the interest of David Neres”, he told AD in the Netherlands.
“We will then talk about that, but the intention is we as Ajax take the lead. He could have moved to China in the winter, but we didn’t let him go”.
Liverpool is not the only club interested in his service, Atletico Madrid have also lunged a £37.8m bid to sign the attacker.
