Confirmed: AMD's 7nm CPU and GPU to Be Launched at CES 2019

AMD has officially announced it’s launch for the 7nm Processors and graphic units. It will not happen this year though, as we all thought it will, but in January at CES 2019.

In the announcement made by AMD’s CEO and President Dr. Lisa Su a promise of a keynote is mentioned for the annual trade show in which there are mentioned very high hopes for the 7nm CPUs.

The release mentions that “AMD will catapult computing, gaming, and visualization technologies forward with the world’s first 7nm high-performance CPUs and GPUs, providing the power required to reach technology’s next horizon”.

CES 2019 is held in Las Vegas from January 8’th until January the 11’th and the timing is just perfect confirming previous rumors and discussions of a 7nm series of parts in 2019. If this is true, there will be more discussions about Ryzen 3 and Vega GPUs in the near by future prior to the official launch. Things look more and more better for AMD as even the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) thinks that AMD has a bright future ahead and will deliver something with a huge impact on the tech world.

Gary Shapiro said in the announcement that: “AMD is transforming the future of computing in our ever-expanding digital world and revolutionizing the $35 billion gaming industry”.

AMD will get the upper hand with this launch as more delays are announced for the Intel Cannon Lake CPUs, making AMD leap over it’s rival with ease apperantly. Although we don’t really know much about what both companies will offer at the conference in 2019, we can only think that whatever happens then will be worth the wait. The release made by AMD ends by noting that more KES keynote will be released in the following weeks.

What ever the case may be AMD has really shaken up Intel. Intel is stepping up packaging and tangles with prices to match the competition as best as possible. The Core I9-9900K comes in a modern designed box and is priced around 580 USD. This CPU is Intel’s firs 8C/16T mainstream processor, and it looks like a direct attack to AMD’s Threadripper, which not only that has amazing performance but comes with a great presentation package.

As CES 2019 is getting closer day by day, we will be keeping a close eye on the rumors and events as more rumors about what we will experience then will appear for sure.
