News reports said that the authorities in China have narrowed access to the ChatGPT chatbot at a time when technology companies and universities in the country are pushing for the development of a local version of the robot that relies on artificial intelligence.
She said that the Chinese authorities had ordered companies such as “Tencent” and “Ant Group” of the “Alibaba chatbot” group to block access to the “ChatGPT,” which allows the production of texts in response to user requests in seconds.
Searching for the robot on Chinese platforms does not lead to finding results, or if the user writes the link to the site that includes the robot, he sees a note from the providers saying that it has been suspended because it “violates the rules and laws.”
However, some users circumvent this through the application of the virtual private network “VPN,” according to the British newspaper “The Guardian.”
Earlier this week, state media in China spoke of the “risks” involved in this robot, which is being developed by the US company OpenAI.
It said the bot could potentially be a way for the United States to “spread false information.”
