Is Chennai Express Sequel in the works? Deepika Padukone has this to say about it.
Deepika Padukone impressed one and all with her quirky character of ‘Meenamma’ in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Chennai Express’. Apart from the romantic and comic storyline of the film, Deepika’s character in the Shah Rukh Khan entertainer was loved by the audience. While fans have been waiting to have a sequel of the much-loved film, Deepika has this to say about it. Speaking about the same at an event recently she revealed that she has been asking the filmmaker to do something with Meenammaor a sequel of ‘Chennai Express’. However, looks like Rohit Shetty is taking his own sweet time to decide on the same.
Elaborating more about her character in the film she added that initially, she could not connect to her. She reportedly revealed that on the first day of the shoot, both Rohit and SRK were not happy as she couldn’t find her. According to her, she didn’t even have the accent and was worried about how she was going to pull it off. The actress later went home that day, worked on it and came back the next day and she just found it!
Meanwhile, on the work front, she will next be seen in Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Chhapaak’ where she will be seen playing acid attack survivors Laxmi Agarwal in the film. The film also stars Vikrant Massey in a pivotal role.
Deepika will also be reuniting with Ranveer Singh on screen in director Kabir Khan’s next, ‘’83’. While Ranveer will be seen playing the character of Kapil Dev, Deepika will be essaying the role of his onscreen wife Romi Dev.
The actress will be co-producing both of the above films.
