Heritage Square is located in Phoenix, Arizona’s historic district. The first Anglo colony in this region was founded in the middle of the 1860s.
This plaza contains a number of houses that provide visitors a taste of Phoenix’s early 20th-century small-town lifestyle.
The Teeter House is one of these residences. Jazz music is played on the patio of this building’s restaurant/teahouse nowadays as patrons dine and drink.
The home also features a delightful gift shop where guests may go through a selection of tea kettles.
One of the original owners of this house is also still around.
The Teeter House was constructed in 1899 by cattleman and wheat miller Leon Bouvier, who operated it as a boarding house.
Eliza Teeter purchased the house in 1911 and kept it open as a boarding house. She shut down this company in 1919 and moved into the three-bedroom house herself.
Up until her passing in 1965, she resided here. Many people think she never left the house she loved.
Visitors claim to have heard their name gently spoken while no one else is nearby. Others claim that things start moving on their own.
One memorable occurrence occurred while nobody was inside the building and the full roll of paper towels in the restroom unrolled onto the floor.
The kitchen is another hotspot in the house. Pots and pans have reportedly been reported to fly off the shelves. One of the cooks observed a lady enter the establishment before she abruptly vanished.
She was alone in the kitchen when she heard her name shouted by another cook.
A group of diners witnessed a shelf in the dining area fly across the space after it was knocked loose.
One day the owner misplaced her keys, only to eerily discover them later under the kitchen sink.
Everyone agrees that the source of this persistent activity is probably the ghost of Eliza Teeter, who is attempting to draw attention to itself.
