The girl was born during a Ural Airlines flight en route from Moscow to Tajikistan, the press service of the carrier reports.
“It happened on the Zhukovsky-Khujand flight. After climbing, the passenger felt pain in her stomach, which she reported to the crew. The senior flight attendant asked the passengers to respond to the doctors. As if by magic, an almost full-fledged maternity hospital was on board: a neonatologist, two midwives and even a radiologist,” the report says.
It is clarified that an emergency landing was not required due to the situation. A healthy girl, 46 centimeters tall and weighing 2.6 kilograms, was born an hour after the start of labor, and an ambulance was waiting for the family at the arrival airport. Currently, the mother and daughter have been discharged from the hospital, both are doing well, the press service added.
