Phillip Hughes has been included in the Australia’s first Test against Sri Lanka in Hobart.
John Inverarity, the national selector, said “Phillip Hughes has been selected to fill the vacancy created by Ricky Ponting’s retirement.”
Hughes made his last Test century against Sri Lanka, in Colombo 2011.
