After making his debut as Neel Battey Sannatha, Ashwini Aiyar directed the ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ starring Ayurman Khurana, Kriti Sanon and Rajkummar Rao, which won him the Filmfare Award for Best Director. He has just wrapped up his third Hindi director, ‘Panga’. The film, made by Kangadi Ranaut in the lead role of Kabaddi player, will open next week during Republic Day weekend, and with no one to rest on his laurels, Ashwini has already planned his next.

Media sources have learned that he will be directing a film by Infosys co-founder NR Narayana Murthy and his monster wife Sudha Murthy. It will be jointly produced by Mahabir Jain, Ashwini and her filmmaker-husband Nitesh Tiwari, who is currently busy with the release of his ‘Chinchor’ starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor. “He has already begun researching the first couple of Indian IT because he wants to keep all his information in mind before diving into this inspirational story. The film is expected to roll out next year. Sanjay Tripathi (writer-director) came up with the idea and the screenplay will start soon, ”said a source.
