The actor is in talks to play the lead in Ronnie Screwvala’s yet-untitled production, which will kick off in early 2020 in Thailand and revolves around crocodiles

Even as Arjun Kapoor is gearing up for his next release, the Ashutosh Gowariker-directed historical drama Panipat, on December 6, Mirror has learnt that the 34-year-old actor has been offered Ronnie Screwvala’s next production. The yet-untitled project will be directed by debutante Neha Rakesh, who has also written the script.
According to a source close to the development, it’s a creature film revolving around crocodiles and will be shot entirely in Thailand.
“Arjun is in talks with the makers. He has found the concept interesting. Besides him, there are two more important characters in the story for which Rana Daggubati and Rakul Preet Singh have been approached. The first stage of recce is already underway, and the film is expected to roll in the first half of 2020. A lot of training will be involved before the actors start shooting for the VFX-heavy film,” the source informed.
Ronnie, who recently announced the Akarsh Khurana-directed sports-drama, Rashmi Rocket, featuring Taapsee Pannu as a Kutchi athlete, has been experimenting with different genres, from the National Award-winning Uri: The Surgical Strike, to the recently released real-life drama, The Sky Is Pink. The filmmaker is also reuniting with Vicky Kaushal for Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Manekshaw biopic, and there’s also Ashwatthama, an action-based superhero film set in modern times which will be directed by Uri debutant Aditya Dhar.
