The new Apple HomePod comes with Siri voice assistant and it has an expensive price. Moreover, this speaker seems to be more attractive on the paper than in real life.
This device is Apple’s first smart speaker. With this new device, customers will be able to talk with Siri without holding up their watch, Apple TV remote, or the iPhone. But, customers need to know that this device is more expensive than the Google Home or the famous Amazon Echo. However, on paper we might say that the new Apple HomePod is more powerful than both its competitors and will start shipping this holiday season.
The new Apple HomePod comes with a cylindrical shape. This speaker measures 6.7 x 5.6 inches, which means that it is quite large. Moreover, this speaker weighs approximately 5.6 pounds. As we see, the new Apple HomePod is twice as heavy and big compared with the Google Home or Amazon Echo.
We must say that the new Apple HomePod looks more like a huge UE Wanderboom speaker, which is not bad at all. However, we will get a better image when we will see this speaker physically.
Until then, these are the only details regarding its design. On the top panel, customers will find a sensitive spot to touch that also glows when it’s listening. As we know, this feature can also be found on the Google Home smart speaker.
Unfortunately, Apple did not want to unveil many other physical inputs or outputs. So, the only confirmed thing is that the new Apple HomePod comes with a power cable. This means that we don’t know if this new speaker comes with optical audio or 3.5mm ports. Another thing that we know is that the new Apple HomePod comes with dark gray or white colors.
To be added that this new speaker is packed with great audio hardware. Even if it isn’t a stereo speaker, we must say that the new Apple HomePod sounds pretty good. It features a high-excursion woofer and seven tweeters for 360-degree sound. So, this means that the speaker will produce high-quality sound and much higher volume compared with the Google Home and Amazon Echo. To be added that this speaker homes six microphones, which means that it is able to recognize every sound.
In the end, we must say that the new HomePod comes with an Apple A8 Chip. This is the same chip that can be found in the Apple TV and iPhone 6. This processor is powerful enough to handle Siri and many other features that this speaker has. So, we are very curious to find out many other new things when the new Apple HomePod will be available on the market.
