Andor: Season 2 is complete, and here’s the news about it!

Back in late September this year when the first season of Andor was released on Disney + no one thought it would be that good. To sum it up, in a short review of the first season, it was an espionage thriller that took you on an intense adventure for Cassian Andor.

It was also surprising to see this series resonate with other non-Star Wars fans, who fell for their mature and political take compared to the other Star Wars films and series we’ve seen so far. What began as a prequel set during the Galactic Empire and Rebellion, the first season followed Cassian Andor’s special journey from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story that won a rabid fan following.

And as showrunner Tony Gilroy prepares for its second season, he announced three directors Ariel Kleiman, Janus Metz, and Alonso Ruizpalacios for the series. When we spoke with Collider, showrunner Tony Gilroy revealed more details about how the makers relied on the series’ block-style shooting episodes that worked in the first season.

The approach involved pairing writers and directors to focus and work on cohesive details in the screenplay, which proved successful in the first season. Australian director Ariel Kleiman has previously directed episodes of Yellowjackets and The Resort, while Janus Metz directed spy thriller Chris Pine, and Thandiwe Newton starred in All The Old Knives.

Director Alonso Ruizpalacios is also known for directing 2 episodes each of Narcos: Mexico starring Diego Luna and 2 other episodes of Outer Range. {Series poster of Andor} Although the final date of season 2 has not been announced, Tony Gilroy also confirmed that the ongoing production schedule will last until August 2023.

It is expected that season 2 will spend as much time in production as Rogue One, just to get details and make well. The cast includes Diego Luna in the lead role, with Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Stellan Skarsgard, Fiona Shaw, and Andy Serkis in the supporting cast. We will keep you updated with every new update on Andor, stay tuned.
