The Swedish luxury brand Volvo, which was formerly owned by Ford and is now under the management of the Chinese automaker Geely, is treating the launch as a major event. It’s not just a new model, either.

Two new safety features will be installed in the car. One checks to see if the car is drifting off the road and then fastens seat belts for everyone inside. If the driver of the Volvo begins to turn in front of a vehicle that is moving more quickly than anticipated, the other vehicle will immediately brake the crossover. In addition, the vehicle has other automated braking systems that cover pedestrians, bicycles, and other vehicles both during the day and at night.Volvo claims that the new technology help it get closer to its 2020 goal of having no fatalities or major injuries with its new vehicles.
