A new Chromebook is available on the market and it comes from Acer. Acer has released the ne Chromebook R11, which comes with a large variety of features.
As everyone knows, Chromebook devices are a little bit limited, but also inexpensive. This means that customers will receive a limited device, which mostly will be usable for Internet, but the price is also very affordable.
The new Acer Chromebook R11 is available at the price of 279 dollars, making this laptop a budget-priced lightweight device. However, there are some interesting attractions on this laptop, like the 360-degree hinge that folds all the way back to form a tablet and a touchscreen display.
The new Acer Chromebook R11 is perfect for spending most of the time online and the 360-degree hinge makes this device stand out. Moreover, being able to transform this laptop into a chunky tablet is very comfortable, especially when users are willing to watch a movie, share a video or make a small presentation with a group.
Acer’s new laptop comes with an 11.6-inch display and a low 1,366×768-pixel resolution. Yes, the resolution will probably disappoint a lot of customers, but it is right in line with other Chromebook ecosystem devices. To be added that this laptop has an IPS display, which means that colors are very nice and the contrast in video and photos holds up when users tilt the screen forward or backwards.
However, the reflections can be problematic, because if users will decide to work outside they will have some hard time finding a place where the sunlight will not be an obstacle. However, the view is generally found indoors.
As it was already mentioned, the display is also a touchscreen, and that is an incredible feature for a budget device. To be added that Acer Chromebook R11 runs Chrome OS, based on the Google Chrome browser. However, having a touchscreen on a Chrome OS device is not really that attractive, because this operating system is not optimized for touch.
There are many other interesting Chromebooks on the market, for example Lenovo 100S Chromebook.
So, this new laptop has some serious competition. However, if we compare the features of Lenovo’s device and the new Acer Chromebook, things are not so different. So, this new Acer Chromebook R11 comes with a full-sized SD card slot that is positioned on the left, joined by an HDMI output and a USB 3.0 port. On the right side, users will find a USB 2.0 port. Other interesting features that can be found on this device are Bluetooth 4.0 and 802.11ac Wi-Fi.
At the price of 279 dollars, customers will also receive an Intel N3150 processor, 32GB of storage space and 2GB of RAM. However, people who are willing to spend more money for a powerful laptop can opt for 4GB of RAM, which costs 329 dollars. As for battery, the company claims that this laptop can go up to 8 hours and 11 minutes, which is a pretty good.
