Acer has released the new Aspire VX 15, a gaming laptop that promises a lot of features. We must say that this laptop comes at an affordable price, but it also has some serious components under its chassis.
The new Acer Aspire VX 15 is cataloged as a budget laptop. But, we must say that it also has that look back from the 90’s, which kind of looks really great. However, we also must say that opting for a budget gaming laptop is a little bit risky.
Why?
Because, these laptops are more like a contradiction. As we know, gaming requires powerful hardware, and these budget laptops come with components that express affordability.
But, over the years, we say that many affordable gaming laptops have managed to offer reasonable power for a reasonable price. So, let’s see how good this new gaming laptop that Acer has recently released is.
Customers will be able to buy the new Acer Aspire VX 15 at the price of 800 dollars. At this price, this new laptop manages to undercut some of the expensive gaming notebooks on the market.
But, the question is if the company dropped the price too much?
At the first sight, customers will probably be impressed by the good-looking exterior. But, once they open the laptop this feeling will probably go away.
Why?
Because, the display is flanked on all sides by approximately an inch of ugly plastic. Below, the display is supported by a plastic hinge that is spray-painted silver. This is not a very good thing for Acer, because if compared with the Dell Inspiron 15 Gaming, things are getting worse.
As we know, Dell Inspiron 15 Gaming is also a budget gaming system, but it has more interesting features and attractive design. Moreover, Dell’s laptop has a sturdy chassis and offers a premium feeling.
Coming back to the new Acer Aspire VX 15, we must say that this laptop also feels a little bit large for its components.
This laptop has too many plastic flanking the display on all sides, which automatically makes the screen smaller, as well. As for design, this laptop is weirdly shaped and overlarge. The new Acer Aspire VX 15 weighs approximately 5.51 pounds, which means that it is not as heft as it looks.
The good thing is that the new laptop comes with a large number of ports. So, this new laptop features a USB Type-C port situated on the right side, alongside two USB Type-A ports. Moreover, there is an HDMI port, and an Ethernet jack.
On the left side, users will find the power port, an SD card slot, a headphone jack, and another USB Type-A port.
This means that this new device comes with every port a customer could need. The inclusion of a USB Type-C port will also come in handy, if we consider that manufacturers has started to move away from the traditional USB Type-C ports.
In the end, we must say that the new Acer Aspire VX 15 comes with a set of built-in stereo speakers that are capable to fill a room with sound.
