nAbir was born innKolkata, West Bengal on 18th November, 1980. At this juncture, hisnage is 35 years. His parents – Rumki and Phalguni Chatterjee – were well knownntheatre personalities of Bengal. Abir also started to take keen interest inntheatre. Initially, he was not inclined to work in films or for televisionnshows.

nApart fromnmaking some appearance on theatre, Abir was also a very good student. He hasndone MBA from ICFAI University and later joined Indiabulls as a marketingnexecutive and worked there for seven months. People who had worked with him atnthis company say that he never showed any interest in working in Bengali films.

nFortunately, henchanged mind due to some family issues and started journey as a television actor.nHis entry into the world of Bengali Cinema happened in 2009 with criticallynacclaimed Bengali movie named Cross Connection.

nAbir is marriednto Nandini Chatterjee. They got married in 2007 when Abir used to work fornBengali serials/television. This was a love marriage. The couple has andaughter.
