Old Funeral Home
On Washington Street in the Rhode Island town of Coventry, there is a vacant structure. Even though this building has been vacant for many years, it is occasionally rented out.The structure has recently been rented by Thomas D’Agontino’s band for use as a temporary recording studio.
They afterwards regretted their choice. The band was aware that Gorton’s Funeral Home had occupied the structure in the past for a while, but they were unconcerned. They had anticipated perhaps running into anything, but what they actually encountered surprised them.
They first heard loud pounding noises, which was unsettling on its own, but soon they started to see things that alarmed them.
Each band member saw numerous apparitions. One of them was a tall man dressed in vintage baggy attire. They witnessed this ghost easily traverse walls. They also frequently encountered a little, glasses-wearing man as a ghost. From a portrait that was left inside the structure, they were able to identify this man. He once worked as an undertaker.
The double doors to the space where they rehearsed and recorded would be shut by this ghost. They understood that this space had previously served as an embalming room.Once he had ushered them inside, the diminutive man would simply vanish.
The most unsettling thing they saw, according to D’Agostina, was a woman crying out in mournfulness. One day, the band heard the doors slam shut behind them as they entered the studio. They then heard similar noises again when they were recording a song.
They listened back their footage to check if they had captured these booms. They heard the booms as expected, but they also overheard a woman sobbing. She then started shrieking and screaming.
D’Agostina acknowledges that these sounds gave him the chills.
Three band members were in the basement one night when they once again heard a woman screaming. The top floor was where they looked to be coming from. They could hear the screams all over the building because they were so loud.
To look around, they ascended to the third storey. The noises stopped as soon as the lights were turned on in the spacious room on this floor.
This abandoned funeral home is avoided by the neighborhood. They claim to have seen lights flash on and off, and a few claim to have seen shadowy figures moving around the structure.
