Proud Mary Collective, a Melbourne cafe, charges $200 for a cup of coffee, although they only produce 22 per day.
Because it won the famous Greatest of Panama competition in 2022 with a score of 96.5 out of 100, the “Black Jaguar” coffee being served up is reportedly the best in the world.
Nolan Hirte, the founder of Proud Mary Collective, who served on the competition’s judging panel, claimed the coffee “blew him away.”
After tasting “Black Jaguar,” which went for $2800 per pound (375 grammes), Nolan was compelled to buy two pounds of it to stock his cafés in Melbourne, Austin, and Portland.
How good, though, can this coffee actually be?
Hirte said to AFR Weekend that when he talks about “Black Jaguar,” he described the feeling as a “out-of-body sensation that felt exceptional” and that occasionally, he gets choked up and wants to cry.
Mr. Hirte describes the “Black Jaguar” coffee as a delicacy for connoisseurs and compares it to items like champagne truffles or a $3000 bottle of wine.
Additionally, he predicts that the coffee will run out in a week, so if you want to try the “Black Jaguar,” you’d better head over there right away because it’s already on sale.
