The film is the sequel to Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and the fourth installment in the Thor franchise. It is directed by Taika Waititi, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. The movie is set to star Chris Hemsworth as Thor, reprising his role from previous films, alongside Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, who will be taking on the mantle of Thor herself.
