If There Was A Bigfoot Filmography, Some Sightings Might Be Explained

Dave Coleman’s forthcoming book, The Bigfoot Filmography: Fictional and Documentary Appearances in Film and Television, compiles all of the big guy’s screen appearances. With more than 700 film and documentary clips spanning more than a century and a half, the collection is a treasure trove for anybody interested in the history of cinema and animation. This seems to be a must-have item for die-hard BIGFOOT fans.

A third reason to read this book has emerged.

Bigfoot sightings and flaps have long been attributed to people’s imaginations running wild in anticipation of or after the release of Bigfoot-related movies. I’ve always had this belief. In fact, I would even go so far as to claim that this holds true in every single case. Coleman’s book may help us determine whether there is a correlation between increased sightings and the films that may have inspired them, as we have a complete record of such features and when they were published. Using statistical analysis, we may be able to identify patterns that may aid future research into these strange hairy hominids. To begin, it would allow us to filter out the “noise” in all reports, allowing us to focus more intently on storylines that did not seem to be influenced by cinematic influences.
