49th Cinema Audio Society Award Winners

Last night ceremony had a tribute to multiple Oscar and Emmy winner -recently deceased- Stefan Kudelski, inventor of the first portable professional recorder known as “Nagra”, Anne Hathaway presented director Jonathan Demme the CAS Filmmaker Award and triple Oscar-winning sound mixer Chris Newman received the 31st CAS Career Achievement Award.

Today CAS announced the nominations for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing for 2012 in six categories. Awards ceremony will be on February 16 in the Crystal Ballroom of the Millennium Biltmore Hotel and the highest honor, CAS Career Achievement Award will be presented to Production Sound Mixer Chris Newman plus the CAS Filmmaker Award to director Jonathan Demme.
