Billboard Music Awards: Celine Dion breaks down as her son presents her with Icon Award

The 48-year-old performed live on television for the first time since the death of her husband and gave a moving rendition of Queen’s The Show Must Go On.

After her performance, her 15-year-old son appeared and she began to cry as she was overcome with emotion.
It comes just four months after the death of her husband René Angelil and her brother Daniel, who both tragically died of cancer.

As she accepted the award, she apologised for crying: “I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry for crying. I want to be so strong for my family and kids.

“Thank you very much. This is such a tremendous honour. Music has been my passion since before I can remember. So many people have helped me get where I am today.
“Most especially I want to thank the fans for travelling through the music with me in good and bad times.”
Celine also paid tribute to her late husband, as she thanked him: “My beloved husband whom I know will continue to watch over me from up above.
