Mother disguises herself with a niqab to kidnap her OWN baby from social services

A MOTHER disguised herself in a niqab to kidnap her own child after social services told her she would never see the baby again.

The woman bought the head scarf before one of her planned visits in a bid to grab her eight-month-old son in one of her last planned visits prior to his adoption
She stole more than £300 worth of perfume and emptied her bank account to fund the crime.
After arriving at a Reading contact centre, the 21-year-old sat playing with the baby before distracting the social worker in charge and fleeing the building.
She then made her was to Reading train station after hailing a taxi before she jumped on a train to Eastbourne.
The mother managed to hide out at a friend’s house with the tot for two days before police tracked her down in a manhunt.
Social services were then handed the child while the mother was arrested.

She admitted to planning the kidnapping of her child while she was in police custody.
According to officials, the mum – who had spent a large part of her childhood in foster care – took the child in a bid to prove she could be a good mother.
She pleaded guilty to one count of theft and one of kidnap but avoided a prison sentence.
The presiding judge warned her: “I’m giving you this chance, I don’t want to see you in this court again.”
The mother was given six months and one month prison sentences to be served concurrently, but was permitted to leave court as she had already spent three months in jail while waiting for the case to go to court.
Her child has since been placed up for adoption and will not be seen by his mother again.
Speaking at the hearing, Edward Butler, defending, said: “She never had the opportunity we all have to take her own baby home for the first time. Social workers were there from the birth.

The mum managed to avoid prison because she had been jailed for three months in leading to the trial

“All she wanted was the opportunity to prove she could do it and that’s what led her to take the chance.
“It was planned, but the reason it was planned was because she wanted to ensure the baby was well cared for. She spent every penny she had on formula milk because she knew a baby couldn’t have cow’s milk.
“Witnesses saw her meticulously sterilising the bottles for her baby. This was an act out of desperation to tell everybody she could do what she wanted desperately to do and that was to be a mum.”
