The Brazilian forward’s buy-out fee is now at a staggering 200 million euros, which will rise to 220m after a year, and then to 250m.
Neymar joined Barca from Santos back in 2013, and has become one of the best players in the world in a successful three years at the Nou Camp.
However, delays over this renewal had led to speculation that the 24-year-old could be lured to Manchester United or Paris Saint-Germain in a big-money move.
FC Barcelona and the player Neymar Jr. have signed a contract extension for the footballer which will keep him at the Club for the next five seasons, until 30 June 2021.
The player’s buy out clause has been fixed at 200 million Euros for the first year of his contract, 222 million for the second and 250 million for the remaining three years.
On 15 July in Barcelona, before the player joins up with the Brazilian national side for the Olympic Games, the agreement will be presented formally.
Barcelona will be relieved to have tied Neymar down, with the skilful attacker very much looking an ideal long-term replacement for star man Lionel Messi up front.
Neymar already has 85 goals in 141 appearances for the Catalan giants in his first three seasons, bagging himself eight trophies along the way.
