A new look-alike of former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has emerged, quickly capturing the attention of social media users. Identified as Cresencio Estremus, a 53-year-old revenue collection officer from Manticao, Misamis Oriental, his uncanny resemblance to Duterte has made him an internet sensation. With gestures, facial expressions, and even hairstyle strikingly similar to the former president, Estremus’ appearance is believed to resemble Duterte by 85-90%.
His colleagues have noted that Estremus looks like Duterte from almost every angle, with the primary difference being their age gap. Despite the humor and excitement surrounding this newfound fame, Estremus took action to distance himself from the political look-alike role. Citing death threats against Duterte during his presidency, Estremus opted to cut his hair, hoping to avoid mistaken identity.
However, not everyone feels the need for caution. Manticao Mayor Antonio Baculio has expressed pride in Estremus’ resemblance to Duterte, even suggesting that he embrace this opportunity. Baculio believes that Estremus could serve as a potential “double” for the former president, using his appearance as an advantage rather than a source of fear.
The internet has seen various Duterte look-alikes go viral, including notable figures such as “Du20,” “Du40,” and “Du70.” Yet, Estremus’ resemblance to Duterte is undeniably the closest, capturing the public’s fascination and sparking discussion about his potential in public appearances or even security measures.
