Another victim of the medical marijuana oppression. I’m sorry I failed you, dearest friend.”, Robin Padilla in a social media post.
One of the saddest part for the showbiz industry in the country as it mourns for the loss of their fellow artist Dick Israel.
Dick died at age 68 on Tuesday, 7:30 pm, October 11, 2016 as confirmed by fellow artist Vivian Velez during a radio interview.
According to Vivian, the veteran actor started vomiting blood before he died in their house. She also revealed that Israel’s wife was hospitalized two weeks ago and in a comatose due to aneurysm.

Unfortunately just less than a week after the actor’s demise, Marlyn, Israel’s wife, passed away.
As a result, the wake of the veteran actor was extended together with his wife and they were cremated together.
“The family has decided to extend the wake at St. Peter’s Chapel on Araneta Avenue in Quezon City together with his wife Marlyn Michaca for 2 more days and they will be cremated together,” -Velez
On the other hand, the veteran actor’s longtime friend, Robin Padilla, who he worked with on various movies expressed his disappointment on “Medical marijuana oppression”.
He said Dick has asked for relief with medical marijuana and felt sorry for not providing him with what he asked because it is still illegal in the Philippines.
“I really thought this government is already educated enough to legalize medical marijuana, “Hypocrites are still under the banner of Big pharmaceutical companies.”, Robin Padilla wrote.
On his post, he also pushes for the legalization of medical marijuana and asked Congress to revive House Bill 180 “Philippine Compassionate Medical Cannabis Bill”, which was discussed by the previous administration.
As a solid supporter of Duterte, he too stands with the president’s support to the legalization of medical cannabis as an ingredient for medicine.
( Those who do not understand the government .. this is the explanation, first Mayor Duterte is not against medical marijuana stick that to your thick skull.
Second, the government is divided into three branches, Executive where the President is there, legislative where the Senate and the congress, and the judiciary where there is the supreme court .. Not because talking about the government, mayor [ President Duterte] is immediately have in your mind. You read and use the internet correctly for additional knowledge.. And particularly I am not pushing recreational marijuana but MEDICAL marijuana…Restore house bill 180 )
On July, the House Bill 180 proposal was filed again by Isabela First District Rep. Rodolfo T. Albano III and got further boosts following Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez’s openness to the legalization and Duterte’s statement – although he would not legalize marijuana but support it as an ingredient.
“There are medicines right now being developed or already in the market that contains marijuana as a component,” -Duterte.
