“Strength does not come from bodily capacity, but from the will of the soul”
The motivation is indispensable to carry out what we want to achieve. Motivation is that driving force that comes from within and helps us to overcome the obstacles that we can find, to overcome us in our task and to achieve, with success, that which we have set ourselves to achieve.
If we are motivating someone, be aware of this type of commitment. Normally, we tend to commit ourselves in word, but not in action. We become vague and relaxed, which consequently manifests itself in the frustration of not getting what we longed for. Let’s be serious about what we want, let’s take it seriously.
Competition
Competition in the strict sense can be understood as something that implies surpassing others at all costs, to become the first, the best of all. We are not here for this. This type of competition is a friendly competition, not to step on top of others, but to use it to force us to improve and reach our goal.
It is our goal, not the goal of others. Being the first does not imply being the best. Keep this in mind.
Use the competition to give you support, to motivate you, use it as a good thing. Competitive people often become selfish, do not help others and want to outdo others. Here, you want to overcome yourself, not the rest. Only you and your target matters. Be clear.
The Importance of a Journal
This does not imply having to write what you have done during the day but a follow-up of your progress and setbacks. A diary will help you get organized, to know what is the next step, to solve problems that have arisen and analyze them to put your solution into practice.
Writing your goal and reading it everyday several times can also be a foothold.
Visualize the goal
A key to motivation is to visualize yourself reaching your goal. How will you see yourself then? How will you feel? Thinking about it will help you stay strong and not fall back on problems that may arise.
Daily Inspiration
The inspiration is very important that the path to your goal will be paying off. It is not necessary to wait until it comes, but we can look for it. Where? Anywhere. Feel receptive to find inspiration in anything, place, event … Take advantage of that.
Reward yourself
Not everything is work, work and work. When you reach a goal, when you overcome an obstacle that brings you closer to your goal, give yourself a break and reward yourself with something. It could be a little break, something that you really wanted to buy, a little trip, whatever. You have to reward yourself for those little things you get. For what? So that the motivation does not decay, so that you remain active and with force in your intentions.
These are some of the steps we should take to be motivated. Of course, the list is broad and can be extended everytime we want. It is also true that depending on our personality, some things can work for us and won’t work for others.
