nSasikala Pushpanwas born on 22nd May, 1976 to Mr. Thyagrajan and Mrs. Gowri. She isnmarried to Mr. Lingesvara Thilagan. She has done B. A. in English Literaturenand later got M. A. in Public Administration. It was her dream to become an IASnofficer for which she appeared in the UPSC Civil Services Exam thrice, butncouldn’t clear it despite reaching to the Interview Level (Mains Exam). Later,nshe joined AIADMK and started to do political and social work.

nSasikala Pushpanrise in the AIADMK was bewildering. Despite clear sign of hindrance beingncreated on her path by the other Sasikala (Chinamma), she rose meteorically andnwas sent to Rajya Sabha in 2014 by Jayalalitha. Actually, Sasikala has widenrespect throughout Tamil Nadu because of the social work she has done. One ofnthe pious attempts of her was to run IAS coaching free of cost for BPL familiesnwith credible results.

nAt the age ofn32, Sasikala was named as the Joint Secretary of Women’s Wing of the party andnin 2011 she became the Mayor of Thoothukudi Municipal Corporation. And hence,nin a very short span of time, she had become a very powerful local leader.

nWhen Jayalalithansent her to Rajya Sabha, everyone was shocked. Fearing backlash from Amma, nonsenior party leader expressed any doubt about her selection. In fact, she wasnbeing seen as becoming a trusted ally of Jayalalitha threating the clout ofnChinamma (Sasikala Natarajan). When her picture in objectionable condition withna DMK MP was leaked on the social media, no one raised an eyebrow. The reasonnwas again the same – everyone was thinking her to be quite close to Amma.

nHowever, it wasneven more shocking when Sasikala spoke publicly against Jayalalitha after hernsacking. It may be because of her sheer frustration of seeing her entirenedifice of ambitions getting trumped all of a sudden. But, her public criticismnof Amma didn’t go down well among AIADMK supporters. And now, after the deathnof Amma, Sasikala’s return in the AIADMK will not be possible. Only Jayalalithancould have forgiven her like she did with the other Sasikala.

nMarriage and Husband of Sasikala Pushpa
nSasikala recently got married with B. Ramaswamy in a private ceremony held in New Delhi. This union had become little bit controversial because of the first wife of Ramaswamy who had gotten stay from Madurai Court for this marriage. Sasikala decided to defy the Court ruling.
