Uma Harathi has secured AIR 3 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination, 2022. From getting booted out of UPSC CSE successful candidate list for four consecutive years and then getting top rank in the fifth year is not a small feat. She has shown what determination, dedication, direction and perseverance can make you.
She is the daughter of the Singham of Telangana Police. Her father, Venkateshwarlu had joined the service as an SI and now is an SP. He was given many out of turn promotions because of his grit and resolve to defeat the red terrorism from Andhra, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra border. Harathi has taken cue from her father.
With the stupendous success of Harathi, the debate of her caste has also taken off. There is lots of confusion as her name doesn’t indicate anything about her caste.
