nLinendancing is a kind of country-and-western dance performed in lines.nIt’s pretty easy, because you have no partner or square depending onnyou (in other words, if you mess up, you don’t mess anybody elsenup!). It’s nice because you don’t need a partner (and you don’t havento hold a stranger’s sweaty hand!). And it’s great because it isngood exercise and (best of all) fun!

nActually, nthere are a lot of line dances from other folk traditions, as well.nAs a teen I loved joining hands and dancing the hora (annIsraeli dance) in such long, winding lines that we could make complexnpatterns. I loved dancing the Greek folk dance miserlou in anhuge circle (which is just a line that has joined ends). n
