nEyewear usually means eyeglasses or sunglasses. Glasses are usually made up of frames plus corrective lenses that help people see better. Sunglasses can help people see better, too, in super-bright, glary conditions like in the snow or ocean on a clear, sunny day. Sunglasses also protect eyes from harmful ultraviolet light.

nSometimes eyewear means goggles or safety goggles. Goggles are mostly meant to protect eyes – from flying balls or sparks, from chemical fumes, from possible exposure to liquid or solid debris while doing anything from construction jobs to science experiments.
