June 1 – Mother and Children's Day in Mongolia

nPosted on June 1, 2020

n

nToday is Children’s Day in many nations, and it used to be called that in Mongolia, too, before Mothers were added to the name. The focus of Mongolia’s holiday apparently remains mostly on kids, as families take outings to parks, movie theaters, or even toy shops. Some towns have speakers or food fairs.

n

n

n

nOf course, I’m talking about typical Mother and Children’s Days – who knows what the celebration will look like during the COVID-19 pandemic!

n

n

n

nBut we do know what Mongolian moms and children look like: love!
