Chelsea star Pedro has lauded praises on Liverpool’s most reliable centre-back Virgil van Dijk.
The Spaniard described him as big powerful defender who is good on the ball, great in the air and the best player in the Premier League.
Van Dijk joined Liverpool two season ago from Southampton and has lead the Reds to back to back Champions League trophy and a second place finish behind Manchester City.
Asked about Van Dijk and how he going to get past him, Pedro replied: Van Dijk is so strong. Good with the ball, great in the air. He is in a good moment. He won the Champions League and is the best player in the league. He is the best player in the league”, he told UEFA.com
Pedro was then asked if Van DIjk is as good as Real Madrid’s super defender Sergio Ramos:
“They are very good central defenders, probably at this time at the top. Sergio i know very well. Van Dijk is so strong, good in the air. They are two big players. Van Dijk with the last season with Liverpool is in a good place. He is in a good moment”.
Good in teh air and good in the ball are certainly two of the features Van Dijk posses but one dangerous trait he is beginning to adapt to is the ability to score goals.
