According to Portuguese media, the perpetrator of the attack was arrested at the Ismaili Centre and it was found that he was an Afghan citizen

Portuguese police said that at least two people were killed in an attack at the Ismaili Centre in Lisbon today, Tuesday, without giving further details.

The Portuguese “CNN” channel said that the suspect in carrying out the attack, an Afghan citizen who was carrying a large knife, was shot and arrested.

Portuguese police have not yet confirmed the nationality of the suspect who carried out the attack.

For his part, Prime Minister Antonio Costa said everything indicated that it was an “individual incident,” adding that it was “too early” to give any explanation for the crime.
