According to the media reports, the Seventh Central Pay Commission (CPC) expected to take final decision by the Cabinet today itself in the Cabinet Meet to implement the allowances which are long pending recommendations submitted by Ashok Lavasa Committee.With 7th CPC implementation, nearly 50 lakhs of the central government staff gets revised allowances.
The Lavasa Committee submitted recommendations after examining Seventh Central Pay Commission that, the revisions needed in some allowances applicable to commonly to all staff and also for those in specific categories including defense, railways, etc.
The Lavasa Committee, which constituted by the Indian Government to review the 7thCentral Pay Commission’s recommendations on allowances and the Committee has done its work and submitted its recommendations report to the Finance Minister Mr. Arun Jaitley during the month of April, 2017.The Department of Expenditure examined the report firstly and then submitted to the Empowered Committee of Secretaries (E-CoS) set up to screen the 7th CPC recommendations and their proposals have been pending for Cabinet Approval.
Earlier, the report of trustful media had said that the government is probably to implement the 7th CPC allowances from July, 2017 onwards with including of House Rent Allowances (HRA) and other allowances.
