Shah Rukh and Kajol’s romantic pairing had worked in the 1995 film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, another cult romantic film. Karan, who was one of the assistant directors for DDLJ, must have foreseen what a tremendous hit their chemistry was going to be. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was SRK and Kajol’s next film together. Not very long ago, Karan had also revealed that he would like to see Alia Bhatt reprising the character of Anjali (originally played by Kajol) if a remake of KKHH was made. He also picked Ranveer Singh as Rahul (SRK) and Janhvi Kapoor as Tina (Rani Mukerji). Sounds like quite a plan!
